Announcement of Newbie UK Award process.
Newbie UK is announcing the process for the Newbie Award 2020. The award will recognize the work and innovation of new entrants to farming that have set up their business within the last 2 – 10 years. The winner will receive € 500 towards training to improve the business or an international farming visit. The winner will also be invited to take part of an international conference for New Entrants in 2021. The 2020 UK winner will receive an award plaque and have an official farm video made of their business which they can use along with their business being recognized in related promotions from the Award.
Video competition
The Newbie UK team based at the James Hutton Institute is launching a video application process learn more about new entrant farm businesses. New entrants are asked to send a short video (taken on your phone is ideal) 1 – 2 minutes maximum in length, explaining the business and what has been achieved thus far. It is the hope that the award process will inspire many creative videos. Award applicants can upload their video clip to us at newbieaward@hutton.ac.uk via www.wetransfer.com and in the message box mention this is an application for the 2020 Newbie Award. The UK Newbie Steering Group will select a shortlist of entries to go forwards to a second stage and those selected will be asked to an online video meeting to talk in more detail about your business. From there a winner will be selected.
